This web site is dedicated to the life
General George H. Thomas. He commanded the Army of the Cumberland
after the Battle of Chickamauga and Thomas was one of the great generals of the American Civil
War. However today, for a
number of reasons, General Thomas is relatively unknown to the general public.
This website will address these issues.
Thomas was a
southerner and a career soldier who, at great personal loss, stood by the Old
Flag. George Henry Thomas was a man of honor and courage in a
time of great turmoil. His story deserves to be known by future
generations of American children.
